Stewardship

Stewardship at Undine

Undine’s High Performance program differs from most other elite training programs in that aside from annual club dues there are no fees for the program.  In order to keep costs low stewardship is highly regarded in the club and those that are part of the program are asked to give back.  In return for daily high caliber coaching, all races fees paid in full, boat trailer fees covered, and top tier Filippi shells available only for the racing squad the following set of duties are requested:

Ringstetten Dinners

Undine is fortunate enough to be the only club on the Row with a social house.  Castle Ringstetten hosts nine dinners a year for members to attend on a social capacity on Thursday nights.  Help is needed setting up tables and chairs, serving food, bussing dishes and cleaning up afterwards.   In exchange for volunteering to help run at a dinner, meals will be comped.

Boathouse Maintenance & Clean Ups

Club members operate under the mantra “see something, say something”. This goes for items that look out of place, a repair that may need to happen or instance such as broken or damaged equipment. Items as such should be reported to the Coach, Captain and/or head of the Fairmount committee so they can be remedied.

The following tasks are to be maintained on the following schedule:

Take out trash and replace bags – Wednesdays & Saturdays
Sweep out the boat bays and coaches room – Saturdays

Remove and donate unclaimed clothing in lost & found bin – Saturdays

Racing Squad Dinner

An annual tradition is the June Dinner which features the racing squad as the feature chefs.  For this dinner the racing squad will plan a menu a month in advance and relay that to the Castle Committee.  They will purchase any supplies necessary and will be reimbursed by the club treasurer.   They will set up, prepare the dinner, serve as well as clean up.  All other monthly dinners are cooked by other chefs but still required help for the other stated aspects above.

Ringstetten Clean up (Spring & Fall)

At least twice annually, the early Spring and Fall, the Castle Ringstetten Committee hosts a work party.  In the Fall (November) the major initiative is to clean the leaves from the property.  Other yard maintenance is done at this time.  In the spring yard maintenance is also done and the property is cleaned up.
