Boathouse
A white, dry-erase board has been put on the door to the tool/coaches room. PLEASE REPORT ALL DAMAGE TO ANY EQUIPMENT OR ITEMS AT THE CLUB THAT ARE IN NEED OF REPAIR BY RECORDING ISSUES ON THIS BOARD.

Thanks to the efforts of the entire racing team, under the leadership of the Senior Lieutenant, Shannon Kaplan, the boathouse is looking better than ever. The racing team, on a weekly basis, has been sweeping the boat bays, taking out the trash, mowing and trimming the grass, and generally keeping the club in fine shape.

Note the drying lines on the east porch. They might be used to more efficiently dry your rowing kit, etc., as well as keep the locker rooms tidy.

Please do not row the three new club singles with out permission of the coaches.

After the racing team returned from Canada, all the club boats were thoroughly washed inside and out. Please help the racing team keep all of the club boats in great condition and spend a few extra minutes after each row to wipe down the boats, clean the tracks etc.

Improvements to the upriver house continue to extend the longevity of this Furness-designed landmark. Repairs to the foundation and porch have been completed for a while, and renovation to the roof, electrical and mechanical systems will soon be undertaken.

The racing team completed another extremely successful summer. Competing at the Schuylkill Navy Regatta, USRowing Elite National Championships, the Independence Day Regatta, USRowing Club National Championships and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, Undine brought home medals in too many events to name here--see the results pages for a listing of Undine results. Of note, Undine won the Mariner Points Trophy at the Independence Day Regatta, besting such larger programs as NYAC,  PennAC and Vesper.

2007 FISA World Rowing Championships
Munich, Germany

Again this year, several Undinians will be racing at the FISA World Rowing Championships. Uncontested at US National Team Trials, and having only to make the required time standard of 6:01, the Undine lightweight mens quad of Dan, Cody, John and Sam, all make their second National Team appearances. This is the 3rd time in 8 years that Joe Quaid will be guiding a lightweight mens quad to the World Championships.

In her first US National Team appearance, Undinian Nicole Nelson, representing the USA in the lightweight women's single sculls, finished in 15th place. Through the "luck of the draw", Nicole drew the hardest qualifying heat, most challenging repechage, and a very difficult C/D semifinal to get to the C final.Coach Michael Naughton has indicated that Nicole's performances continuously improved throughout the regatta.

Also representing the USA in this regatta was member Chris Klotzbach, racing in the lightweight mens quad, also in his first National Team appearance.
